London College of Fashion alum Zainab Ashadu founded her eponymous accessories brand in Lagos in 2010, specialising in leather handbags and small leather goods. From exotic skins to brass finishes, Zashadu sources all its materials locally from tanneries in northern Nigeria and family-run leather traders in Lagos. They are then crafted by local artisans using traditional techniques to create Zashadu’s signature designs such as the Box Clutch and Hero bag alongside travel wallets and slides.
